Built-in Smart Voltage Regulator
You cannot simply push 5V of USB power into a device designed for 3V without frying the circuit board. That is why our USB connector features an integrated step-down voltage regulator. It intelligently converts the 5V USB input into the exact voltage your device needs:

- Can I mix real batteries with these dummy batteries?Absolutely NOT. The passive dummy batteries are essentially direct wire shorts designed to complete the circuit. If you mix them with real batteries, you will create a dead short across the real battery, which can lead to overheating, leakage, or a fire hazard. Only use the exact combination of active and passive dummies provided in the kit.
- Will the battery compartment door still close with the wire sticking out?In most cases, yes. The wire attached to the active dummy battery is relatively thin. However, for devices with waterproof or extremely tight-fitting battery doors, you may need to use a small file or craft knife to create a tiny notch in the plastic door for the wire to pass through safely.
- Can I plug this into a fast-charging power bank?Yes. The USB plug contains a smart voltage regulator. Even if you plug it into a high-amperage power bank or a modern wall charger, it will only draw 5V and safely step it down to the required 3V, 4.5V, or 6V for your device.
