Supercharge Your Audio Projects with the PAM8302A
Don't let the miniature footprint fool you. The PAM8302A Mono Class D Amplifier is engineered to deliver a massive audio upgrade to your custom electronics. Whether you are building a portable retro gaming console, a smart home alert system, or an interactive STEM project, this module effortlessly drives up to 2.5 Watts into 4-8 ohm impedance speakers.
High Efficiency for Battery-Powered Builds
Power management is critical in portable electronics. Because this module utilizes a Class D controller, it boasts an incredible 90%+ power efficiency when driving an 8Ω speaker at over half a Watt. It sips power from a standard 2.0V-5.5VDC supply, meaning your battery life lasts significantly longer compared to traditional Class AB amplifiers.
Built-in Protection & Precision Volume Control
Safety and stability are built right into the board. The PAM8302A features robust thermal and over-current protection, ensuring your circuits remain safe even during peak audio spikes. Additionally, the onboard volume trim potentiometer gives you precise control, allowing you to easily adjust the output down from the default 24dB gain to perfectly match your project's acoustic needs.
Bridge-Tied Output for Direct Speaker Drive
Designed for simplicity and signal integrity, the output of this module is "Bridge Tied." This means the output pins connect directly to your speaker coils without needing a ground connection. The high-frequency 250KHz square wave PWM is mechanically averaged out by the speaker itself, ensuring you only hear crisp, clear audio. (Note: Because of this architecture, this module must drive speakers directly and cannot be chained into another amplifier).

FAQ Section
FAQ Section
Q. How do I wire the audio inputs if my source isn't differential?
A. If your microcontroller (like an Arduino or Raspberry Pi) doesn't have differential outputs, simply connect the audio signal to the A+ pin and tie the A- (Audio-) pin directly to ground.
Q. Can I connect the output of this board to another amplifier?
A. No. The PAM8302A uses a Bridge-Tied Load (BTL) output, meaning it outputs a high-frequency PWM signal designed to be smoothed out by a physical speaker coil. It must be connected directly to a 4-8 ohm speaker.
Q. Does this module require a heatsink?
A. Due to the highly efficient Class D architecture (over 90% efficiency), the chip generates very little heat. Under normal operating conditions, a heatsink is not required.
