Full Product Description

Interactive STEM Learning Through Wooden Robotics

Bring coding to life with a hands-on, tactile building experience. The Keyestudio Greeting Robot Kit bridges the gap between software programming and mechanical engineering. Designed for primary and secondary school students, this kit uses precision laser-cut basswood panels that easily slot together. Students will learn how to assemble a functional robot chassis, wire up electronic sensors, and write code that makes the robot interact with its environment.

Ultrasonic Detection & Servo Movement

This isn't just a static wooden toy. The kit includes an SR01 Ultrasonic Sensor that acts as the robot's "eyes," detecting when a person or object approaches within 15-35cm. Once triggered, the code activates the two included micro servos, allowing the robot to lift its arms and wave in a friendly greeting (0~90° angle range). It is a perfect, engaging introduction to input/output logic and automated robotics.

Paint and Customize Your Creation

Encourage both left-brain logic and right-brain creativity! The natural basswood exterior acts as a blank canvas. Kids can use markers, acrylic paints, or stickers (paint not included) to draw faces, clothes, or custom graffiti on their robot, making every single build completely unique.

💡 Pro Tip from Our Technicians

"CRITICAL NOTE: This specific kit (KS0809) includes the expansion board, sensors, and wooden frame, but DOES NOT include the main processing board. You must provide your own Micro:bit V2 or ESP32 Easy Coding Board to make it work! If you are a parent buying this as a gift and aren't sure which board to get, drop by our Sham Shui Po store. Our team at Sun Cheong Computer Co. Ltd. highly recommends the Micro:bit V2 for beginners using MakeCode. We can help you pick up the missing board and show you how to safely assemble the wooden joints without snapping them!"

FAQ Section

  • Does this kit come with the Micro:bit motherboard? No, this specific SKU (KS0809) does not include the main motherboard. It includes the wooden chassis, expansion shield, servos, and sensors. You will need to purchase a Micro:bit V2 or an ESP32 Easy Coding Board separately to program and operate the robot.
  • Is this robot kit suitable for a 9-year-old with no coding experience?Yes, absolutely! The robot supports Microsoft MakeCode and KidsBlock 3.0, which use intuitive, drag-and-drop graphical blocks (similar to Scratch). It is designed specifically for primary and junior high students to learn coding basics without needing to type complex syntax.
  • Do I need a soldering iron to assemble this?No soldering is required. The kit uses a custom expansion board and standard 4P DuPont wires for plug-and-play connections. The wooden frame is assembled using the included screws, nuts, and a mini screwdriver.
