The Perfect Solution for Imported TVs
Many parallel imported televisions purchased from Mainland China (such as those from Taobao) lack the correct built-in tuner or firmware to decode Hong Kong's DMB-TH digital broadcasts. If your new TV cannot search for local channels, the EIGHT LC8 is the ideal fix. By connecting your wall antenna to this set-top box and routing the video to your TV via HDMI, the LC8 acts as a dedicated decoder, allowing you to receive all local free-to-air channels flawlessly.
High-Definition Digital TV Reception
The EIGHT LC8 set-top box is fully compliant with the DMB-TH standard, ensuring stable and clear reception. It supports high-definition video decoding up to 1080p, delivering sharp and vibrant picture quality to your modern flat-screen TV. For users with older televisions, it also retains legacy connections including Component (YPbPr) and Composite (CVBS) outputs.
USB PVR Recording and Multimedia Playback
Never miss your favorite shows with the built-in Personal Video Recorder (PVR) function. By connecting an external USB hard drive, you can easily schedule recordings via the 7-day Electronic Program Guide (EPG) or record live TV with a single button press. The USB port also doubles as a multimedia player, allowing you to view photos (JPEG, BMP), listen to music (MP3, WMA), and watch videos (AVI) directly on your TV.
Technician Tip
To ensure smooth PVR recording, the manufacturer recommends using a USB 2.0 external hard drive with a capacity of 1TB or less. The hard drive must be formatted directly through the set-top box menu before its first use. Please note that while the package includes a standard RCA (AV) cable for older TVs, an HDMI cable is not included. Our Sun Cheong Computer Co. Ltd. technicians recommend purchasing a quality HDMI cable separately to experience true 1080p high definition.
