Full Product Description

Ultra-Flexible Silicone Insulation for Tight Spaces

When wiring compact electronics like FPV drones, Arduino microcontrollers, or custom mechanical keyboards, standard PVC wire is often too stiff and prone to melting during soldering. This AWG30 wire features a premium, high-purity silicone rubber jacket that is incredibly soft and highly resistant to bending. With an ultra-thin outer diameter of just 0.8mm, it routes effortlessly through tight chassis gaps and sharp corners without putting stress on delicate solder joints.

High-Temperature Resistance and Tinned Copper Core

The internal conductor consists of 11 strands of 0.08mm tinned copper (11/0.08TS). The tin plating prevents the copper from oxidizing over time, ensuring excellent conductivity and making the wire incredibly easy to solder. The silicone insulation is rated to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -60°C up to +200°C. This means the wire jacket will not shrink, melt, or emit toxic fumes when you apply a hot soldering iron to it, ensuring clean and professional-looking connections.

Technician Tip

Because AWG30 wire is extremely thin (0.055mm² cross-sectional area), it is designed exclusively for low-current signal transmission, data lines, and micro-sensors. Do not use this wire for main power delivery or high-current motor connections, as it will overheat. When stripping the silicone jacket, use a precision wire stripper or your fingernails to avoid accidentally cutting the delicate internal copper strands. If you need thicker wire for power delivery, visit our Sham Shui Po store to explore our full range of AWG silicone cables.

FAQ Section

What is the difference between silicone wire and standard PVC wire?

Silicone wire is significantly softer and more flexible than PVC wire. Most importantly, silicone can withstand temperatures up to 200°C, meaning the insulation will not melt or shrink back when you touch it with a hot soldering iron, which is a common problem with PVC wire.

Can I use this AWG30 wire to power a motor or LED strip?

No, AWG30 is an ultra-thin wire designed for low-current signal transmission, such as connecting sensors to an Arduino or wiring data lines on a flight controller. It cannot handle the high current required by motors or long LED strips.

Why is the copper wire tinned (silver-colored)?

The copper strands are coated with a thin layer of tin to protect them from oxidation and corrosion over time. Tinned copper is also much easier to solder, as the solder flows and bonds to the tin coating instantly.

Is this wire suitable for repairing mobile phone motherboards?

Yes, the 0.8mm outer diameter and high flexibility make it an excellent choice for running jumper wires on mobile phone logic boards, repairing broken traces, or performing micro-soldering tasks under a microscope.

Can I buy individual colors, or do I have to buy a set?

You can purchase individual 20-meter rolls in your preferred color (Red, Black, Blue, Green, or Yellow). We stock all colors at our Sham Shui Po physical store for immediate pickup.
