- Can I use a 12V power adapter with this cable to fast-charge my Type-C phone?Absolutely NOT. While Type-C ports can handle 12V or 20V, they require a PD chip to negotiate that voltage safely. This cable is passive. If you input 12V, 12V of raw power will go straight into your phone and permanently destroy it. You must only use a 5V power adapter if your device expects 5V.
- Is this cable capable of transferring data?No. This adapter cable is wired for power transmission only (VBUS and GND). It will not allow you to transfer data between a computer and a smartphone or microcontroller.
- Which option should I choose for a Raspberry Pi 4?The Raspberry Pi 4 uses a USB Type-C port for power. Therefore, you should select Option 1: 5.5x2.1mm Female to Type-C Male. (Note: Ensure your 5V power supply can deliver at least 3A for a Pi 4, though this cable is rated optimally for 1-2A continuous use).
