Hidden Motion Detection for Mains Lighting
This 220V microwave radar sensor utilizes the Doppler effect to detect human movement up to 10 meters away. Unlike traditional Infrared (PIR) sensors that require a direct line of sight, microwave radar can penetrate non-metallic surfaces such as drywall, glass, and thin wood. This allows you to completely hide the sensor inside ceiling voids, light fixtures, or wooden cabinets without sacrificing detection sensitivity.
Integrated Light Sensor for Energy Saving
Equipped with a built-in photocell (light sensor), this switch intelligently monitors ambient light levels. It ensures that your connected lights only turn on when motion is detected in dark or low-light conditions, preventing unnecessary power consumption during the daytime. Once motion stops, the switch will automatically turn off after a preset factory delay.
Technician Tip
Because this operates on mains AC voltage (185-265V), please ensure the power is completely shut off at the breaker before installation. According to the included wiring guide, the setup uses a 3-wire system:
- Red Wire (L): Connect to Live IN from your mains power.
- Black Wire (N): This is the Common Neutral for both the mains IN and the light fixture OUT.
-
White Wire (L1): Connect to the Live OUT going to your light fixture.
Additionally, as printed on the factory label, do not install this sensor directly behind or facing a metal block, as metal will reflect the microwaves and cause the sensor to fail.

FAQ Section
FAQ Section
- Why doesn't the light turn on when I walk past it during the day? This sensor features a built-in light control circuit, meaning it is designed to only trigger the lights when the surrounding environment is dark.
- Can I connect a 100W light bulb to this sensor? No, the maximum rated output for this specific sensor is 35W; connecting a load higher than 35W will burn out the internal relay.
- Can I install this sensor inside a wooden wardrobe?Yes, the microwave signals can easily penetrate thin wooden panels, allowing you to hide the sensor completely inside the wardrobe for a clean look.
- What is the black wire used for in the wiring diagram? The black wire (N) acts as the common Neutral line; you must connect both the Neutral from your mains power and the Neutral from your light fixture to this single black wire.
- Can I get advice on wiring this to my ceiling lights at your Sham Shui Po store?Yes, our technical team at Sun Cheong Computer Co. Ltd. can provide practical AC wiring advice and safety tips when you visit our retail shop.
